Objectives
  • Provide robust international indicators and policy-relevant analysis on teachers and their principals and the schools they work in in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Help countries review and develop policies that promote conditions for effective teaching and learning.
  • Provide the opportunity to compare countries facing similar challenges and to learn about different policy approaches and their impact on the learning environment in schools.

Target population: TALIS core

  • Lower secondary school teachers (ISCED level 2) and their principals

Options:

  • Primary school teachers (ISCED level 1) and their principals
  • Upper secondary school teachers (ISCED level 3) and their principals
  • Pre-primary staff (ISCED level 02) and their leaders
  • Staff educating/caring for children under 3-years-old (U3) and their leaders
  • Lower secondary school teachers participating in the Teacher Knowledge Survey (ISCED level 2)

 

Sample

  • 200 schools per ISCED level (ISCED level 2 incl. Teacher Knowledge Survey, ISCED level 1 and 3)
  • 180 ECEC settings per ISCED level 02 and population U3
