IEA Book Released: Putting PIRLS to Use in Classrooms Across the Globe

Teachers are essential to the work of IEA by supporting IEA studies and investing in educational practice. As one of the publications aimed at GivingBackToTeachers, IEA is delighted to release the first volume, titled Putting ‘PIRLS to Use in Classrooms Across the Globe: Evidence-Based Contributions for Teaching Reading Comprehension in a Multilingual Context, in a new open access book series Research for Educators. This new series provides scientific insights from IEA studies and practical suggestions for the classroom. More than a book, the first volume of the Research for Educators series is a classroom resource that teachers can use for teaching strategies and lesson plan ideas.

The book has two parts. First, the book dives into an overview of literature insights in reading comprehension theory, including evidence-based didactic principles, practical tips, and example lessons based on PIRLS data. Second, the book is accompanied by additional resources which includes an extended chapter and a resource pack.
