Conference Theme: Enhancing Momentum to Achieve Parity in Higher Education Leadership
The 2024 ACE Women’s Network Leadership Conference further advances ACE’s commitment to Moving the Needle: Advancing Women in Higher Education Leadership, an initiative with the goal of achieving gender and racial parity in the percentage of higher education chief executives by 2030.
As described in The American College President: 2023 Edition, the college presidency is still largely dominated by white men. Though women have maintained recent gains in higher education leadership, there has not been substantive forward progress toward parity; further, the demographic trends are particularly dismal for women of color.
The event will focus on the intersectionality of women’s identities by assessing and analyzing how general strategies intended to advance women in the sector may not be sufficient to support the professional growth and sustainability of all women—particularly women of color and marginalized identities.
During this one-day conference on March 20, 2024 in Washington, DC, participants will have the opportunity to network, share insights, and attend thought-provoking topical sessions. Registrants are invited to attend the ACE Women’s Leadership Dinner, which will follow the conference from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Limited seats are available. This event is open to all those who are interested in advancing and supporting women in higher education leadership. Members of the ACE Women’s Network are particularly encouraged to attend. Learn more about the ACE Women’s Network.
