Responses to Educational Disorders (REDS) is an IEA and UNESCO study, in collaboration with the European Commission. This study draws a more complete picture of the pandemic’s impact on education worldwide. Insights from REDS data can better orient and tailor policy responses to strengthen education system resilience, especially during disruptions to schooling. The 2022 cycle of OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) will assess mathematical literacy as the major domain, reading literacy, scientific literacy, and creative thinking as minor domains, and financial literacy as an optional domain. Data collection for the 2022 cycle is underway with participants from more than 80 OECD member and partner countries. We have recently published the Fact Sheet and Framework pages of this study.
The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) measures adults’ proficiency in key cognitive and workplace areas, i.e., literacy, numeracy, and problem solving. PIAAC 2nd Cycle is taking place from 2018-2024 with the participation of over 30 countries and economies. The first round of data collection will take place in 2022-2023, and the results will be published in 2024. We have recently published the Fact Sheet and Framework pages.
