OECD Preliminary Report on The Situation of School Education During the COVID Pandemic

The OECD – in collaboration with UNCESCO, UNICEF, and The World Bank – conducted a survey on education responses across countries/economies facing the COVID pandemic since 2020, from school closures and remote learning to teacher vaccination and gradual returns to in-class instruction. The data were collected from government authorities between January and February 2021.  This report titled: “The State of School Education One Year into the COVID Pandemic”, provides an insight into preliminary results. Among others, the authors investigated relationships with PISA 2018 outcomes, finding that the crisis is not only amplifying educational inequalities within countries, but furthermore increasing inequalities in performances between countries.
