Notre Dame Pier Interdisciplinary Educational Research Program (ND PIER) trains doctoral students to examine the impact of educational practices, programs and policies with their training in state-of-the-art-methods. Drawing on the expertise of Notre Dame’s Institute for Educational Initiatives in Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, STEM Education, the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, and other affiliated centers, ND PIER encourages a community of early career scholars who support one another’s learning and professional goals to engage the broader institute mission. Students will be able to demonstrate what works in education, for whom, and under what conditions, taking special attention to educational disadvantages. Emphasis will be placed on Catholic schools.
ND PIER students earn the Rev. James A. Burns Fellowship, a top-off award of $5,000-$10,000.
